Dr. Anita Schamber Biography
Listen to My Life Facilitator
Masterful Life Designs - Life/Work Planner, Global Coach and EQ Strategist, and National Board Certified Counselor Global Women in Leadership Founder
Kent, WA

Anita's mission is "to inspire, motivate, and equip women and men across the globe to use their God-given gifts in His service."  For the past 12 years, Anita has lived her mission by facilitating spiritual growth, leadership development, and change through coaching and teaching Christians in more than 20 countries through World Vision International and Eastern University's Pathways to Leadership Master's Degree Program.

While at World Vision, Anita engaged in a Global Women in Leadership initiative, which she has now co-founded as an external non-profit to continue linking women of influence in western countries with women of influence in developing countries for mutual transformation in the name of Christ! Central to these relationships is the women's deep understanding and respect for each other's life stories. GWIL programs and services include vision trips, mentor pairing, educational opportunities, microenterprise resources, and emotional and financial support of survivors of rape and abuse in war torn countries.

Masterful Life Designs continues Anita's life long work in life/career planning and coaching. Over the years she has engaged in certified training with Richard Bolles (What Color is My Parachute?), Dick Knowdell (Career Development and Adult Planning Network's Job Transition Coaching), and recently, with Susan Whitcomb (Career Coaching Academy). Anita's 8 P "process" helps clients extract from their life stories key God given elements of passion, purpose, particular talents, principles (values) and perspectives, connecting them with peak life experiences involving peoples and places to prepare life plans congruent with the client's current life season.

A graduate of the Academy of Coach Training, Anita also is a certified Emotional Intelligence Strategist. In addition to LTML training, she has attended the Story Workshop hosted by Mars Hill Graduate School, which emphasized "valley experiences" and God's redemptive power in our lives.

Anita holds a doctorate in Leadership in Human Resource Development from Vanderbilt University, a Master's in Counseling from the University of Illinois, and a BA in Sociology/Education from Augustana College. Her many hats include counselor, college professor, professional coach, and consultant to business, education, government, and non profits.

Anita has served on the Elder Boards of four churches and has chaired stewardship, missions, education, women's ministries, pastor nominating, and church building committees in addition to teaching classes. She and her husband KR attend Grace Community Church in Auburn, WA. and between them have six children and 11 grandchildren.
