Jay Madden Biography
Listen to My Life Facilitator
Algonquin, IL
Area Pastor for Willow Creek Community Church
Barrington & Cary Grove, IL

Jay’s purpose is to cultivate environments for transformation.  He believes that God is in the process of redeeming what was lost in each of our lives and the world at large.  He believes that as we are all involved in his work we are ourselves transformed. God has called Jay to lead people on this journey. He believes that he does that most effectively when he knows people’s stories and they know his story.

Jay currently serves as an Area Pastor at Willow Creek Community Church. He is responsible for providing biblical community, pastoral care, and compassion and justice in the Barrington and Cary Grove areas.

In his previous role at Willow Creek Community Church, Jay served in Evangelism and led the ministry for new believers. Before coming to Willow, he served as the Evangelism Director at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville South Carolina. In the 12 years prior to that, Jay was in the marketplace and owned his own business.

Jay earned a Master of Divinity degree with a focus of transformational leadership from Bethel Seminary. He is a graduate of Furman University where he earned a B.A. in Political Science.

Jay has been married to his wife, Rebecca, for over 20 years. They have two children, a daughter, Neale, and a son, William.  He loves to spend his free time with his family which is his favorite small group!  He love sports especially football, baseball, and racing. A perfect day for him would be a day at the beach with Rebecca and a good book or a day in the wilderness with my Labrador retriever, Genny.
