Jenny Trees Biography Jenny’s mission is to lead and encourage people to discover ways to be in authentic community with each other and grow deeper in their relationship with Christ. By leading small groups, entering into mentoring relationships and accountability groups as well as facilitating workshop/retreats she finds she is best able to accomplish this mission with the help of verses such as Isaiah 30:21 which states: Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it." Currently serving as the Director of Spiritual Formation at Hillside Covenant Church in Walnut Creek, Jenny organizes, supports and encourages the small group community, discipleship programs, and adult education programs. She is responsible for inviting and encouraging congregation members to participate in life transforming small groups that are submitted to the Holy Spirit, transformed by the word of God, living their faith out in the world, nurtured in community, and equipped to serve. Prior to her role as director, Jenny developed and directed Hillside’s Women’s Ministry team and family ministries. In addition to her work at the church, Jenny also owns a photography business, Green-Trees Studio, where she and her husband partner to photograph families, weddings, children, and other events. Jenny received her degree in Organizational Communications (with a minor in Business Administration) from California State University, Sacramento. Born and raised in Northern California, Jenny loves being in the Bay Area. After marrying Rick Trees in 1993, they had three wonderful, and very energetic boys, Alex, Connor and Jake. Jenny’s first love is being at home with her boys. When she’s not chasing after them, taking photographs, or serving the church body, she loves reading, needle-pointing, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
