What is a Visual Map?

Visual maps' are worksheets that invite introspection and documentation in spaces created by picture metaphors and powerful questions.  By writing words and/or drawing pictures, participants can work with freedom to respond to these questions, documenting their own stories and responses in whatever order ideas or memories come to mind.

Based on significant learning theory, these visual maps unlock insights by helping people to see their story in new ways.  Connections between parts of the story come to light when the information is laid out visually.  Patterns are recognized, learning is internalized, and new options arise.  Participants are encouraged to invite God into the processes, heightening awareness to his direction, and to his loving presence throughout the story of one's life.  The results are evident in the stories of those who have encountered the LISTEN TO MY LIFE experience.  Please check out a few of those stories by visiting the 'Life as a Story' section on this web site.
