Sara's mission is to build relationships with others and help them connect with their stories in order to reach the destiny God has for them.
Sara currently works with a group called Revolution in her local church. Revolution is "twenty somethings" interning at the church seeking God's direction for the next season and beyond. She has helped them retrace their stories and serve the community through various outreaches. In January, Revolution will be taking Listen to My Life materials to a local center to help the under-resourced connect with their own stories as part of their journey to wholeness.
Sara is a Pastor's wife that has a wide variety of experience. She has been with Revolution since August of this year when her husband, Chuck, took the Executive Pastor position at Winston-Salem First. Prior to this, she worked as a school counselor in Barrington, Illinois while Chuck was on staff at Willow Creek Community Church. Before their time at Willow, Chuck and Sara helped start GreeneWay Church in Orlando, Florida. He was Executive Pastor, and she helped start a preschool, afterschool program as well as an Arts Center for children at the church. She simultaneously worked a local elementary teaching third grade.
Sara earned a Master's of Science Degree in Education in Counseling from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Art's Degree in Elementary Education from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida.
In addition to the relationships, she is building in the community, Sara's top priority is her family. She has one daughter, Tori, and three sons, Charlie, Matthew, and Andrew ranging in age 11-4. Her favorite things to do as a family are hiking, biking, playing games, and vacationing. For some relaxing time, a good book and cup of coffee in a quiet setting is great!
