Recently, I had the opportunity to join others at a Listen to My Life retreat featuring the “Following Forward” map. It felt like God had personally invited me to join Him on that day. I came in great anticipation of what He might have to say.
The day was composed of times of silence and meditation, listening to one another without interruption, and processing how we might go about “following forward” with Him. These tools and strategies gave me space to hear God and share with others. I felt encouraged to apply these same tools into practice in a retreat of my own!
This Listen to My Life retreat experience gave me the gift of freedom. By creating a safe space, I was free to hear God’s heart, other women’s hearts, and my own heart. Listen to my Life has a way of setting the stage for God to speak into these places. I have clarity regarding the work I believe God has called me to do. I am grateful.
It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows. Galatians 5:13 (Message)
Questions to ponder:
1. How do we create space to listen well — to God, to ourselves, to others?
2. In what ways is God calling you to follow Him forward to freedom in using your gifts, talents, and skills?
Lord Jesus, help me to keep my eyes focused on following You as I seek to serve the women that you have called me to serve. May I move peacefully in the freedom You have given to share Your love freely, listen well, and point others to see the fingerprints You are leaving in their lives. Amen.
