Is gaining self-knowledge scary?

Some people think so.

I have come to feel that I would rather know myself well – so I can choose to lean into who God made me to be and what he made me to do. Equally important is the fact that I want to know myself so I don’t unconsciously do things that get in the way of what God has intended for me to be and do.

I’d rather risk feeling uncomfortable as I become aware of my short-comings and unhelpful tendencies than suffer the consequences that may unfold otherwise – for myself as well as what I may inflict on others.
Freedom unfolds as I see myself more clearly.

Freedom or fear?
Which will I choose?
Which will you choose?
